In a misguided attempt to boost employee morale, the Dum-E Company organized a downhill soapbox derby race and company picnic. This event occurred annually from 1992-1999, despite the numerous injuries and resulting employee complaints.
The 5th annual race was especially notable. Attendees received a T-shirt boasting a design inspired by the iconic artwork of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, a legend in the world of hot rods and automotive culture. This wearable piece of art was paired with what was declared to be "The best damn potato salad you've ever had."
... There were no survivors.
